Alemagou, Ftelia beach

My friends and I spent an entire day at Alemmagow Beach Club and unfortunately left with a very unpleasant experience.
Weeks before our trip to Mykonos, we had booked and fully paid for our sunbeds and umbrellas in advance. However, upon leaving the venue, we were stopped by the manager and asked to pay an additional fee for an “upgrade” we were never informed about or agreed to.

Despite explaining that we had already paid the agreed amount, the manager insisted on the extra charge and even threatened to call the police—when in fact it was us who considered calling the authorities, as we felt scammed. This was both shocking and unacceptable.

What made this even more disappointing is that, despite the windy weather and the beach being half empty, we supported the venue by staying all day, enjoying the beach, and spending considerably at their restaurant and bar. Instead of appreciating their guests, we were met with dishonesty and intimidation.

Sadly, what could have been a beautiful day in Mykonos turned into a stressful and frustrating experience.
I strongly recommend future guests to double-check every charge and be cautious when booking in advance or maybe even avoiding to go there at all.

Visit Alemagou every year (since it opened), it has grown, but the same good vibe still remains.
The only slight disappointment is the food though (hence 3 star review).
The menu hasn’t changed at all in the past few years, and although generally good, lacks imagination. This year, also waiter looking after orders was very unhelpful and unfriendly. Rushed the order and made settling the bill difficult.
Love the party.
Will be back next year, but hope the restaurant changes a bit.

Alemagou is a bit outside the center, so having a car definitely makes getting there easier. The food was excellent, very tasty, and reasonably priced – even the wines were surprisingly affordable. However, the €15 parking fee just to leave your car on the sandy lot in front of the entrance feels excessive. That said, we still had a great time – the atmosphere was lovely and the service was very quick and attentive.

We had lunch here yesterday, the three of us. Nice place, so we decided to book again for lunch today and also reserve a beach umbrella for tomorrow.
At lunch today, Millis (some sort of overexcited waiter) told us that with a lunch reservation and meal, we could also stay for the afternoon aperitif.
After lunch, one of my friends broke his flip-flops, so I had to drive him home to change them because he was barefoot. When we returned, Millis — the self-appointed star of the show — suddenly decided he didn’t want to give us the wristbands anymore (unlike the other waiters, who had been polite and professional). He even told me he found me “unpleasant” and therefore wouldn’t let us access the bar area.
Such behavior was disrespectful, ridiculous, and, above all, in very poor taste all because this guy, probably frustrated, needed to take it out on someone — poor soul.
It’s a shame, because many of the people working here, apart from the waiters, such as the hostesses, are just as unfriendly.

Beach: smaller and rocky, on our visit unfortunately a very windy day so pretty difficult to enter or exit the water. Beds very comfortable, €75 per bed regardless which row you’re in. Service very friendly and not pushy like in other places. Prices typical of Mykonos. Good selection of drinks.

Restaurant: incredible, probably the best food we ate during our week stay. The grilled fish was the most delectable I’ve ever eaten. Service and ambience amazing, such a wonderful venue to visit for lunch or dinner.
