Renowned for its stunning beaches, wild parties, and amazing tourist activities, from great hikes to water sports, this island never disappoints. Compared to the many other islands in Greece, this place is vastly renowned for its nightlife. If you’re coming here for this purpose, you may now wonder where to stay in Mykonos for partying. This is why we created this article.

Below, you will find a list of the best places to stay in Mykonos for parties. We also added a few tips to ensure you make the most of your time here.

Best Areas to Stay in Mykonos for Partying

Mykonos is a relatively small island, and you can drive from its east to its west shore in less than an hour. Despite this, there are plenty of different tourist areas, and choosing the wrong one can significantly impact your trip.

Mykonos is mainly known for its party vibes, but this doesn’t mean you will only find young people here. Plenty of families and older couples choose this place for its beautiful beaches and stunning nature, so you want to pick your accommodation carefully.

Paradise and Super Paradise Beaches

This is the best area to stay in Mykonos for day parties. Here, you can have tons of fun not only at night but also during the day. Why? Because you will find a variety of beach clubs where you can relax during the day, make the most of the stunning sea, and then start partying in the afternoon. Two of the most popular options are Paradise Beach Club Mykonos and Cavo Paradiso Club Mykonos.

Paradise and Super Paradise Beaches are south of Mykonos Airport and are less than one mile apart. Despite this, walking between them is quite tough as there is no direct road connecting the two, so choose carefully. Super Paradise Beach is slightly less crowded than Paradise Beach and is renowned for its LGBTQ-friendly places.

The vast majority of young tourists visiting Mykonos decide to stay on one of these two beaches. Here, you will find all types of accommodations, from the best Mykonos luxury villas to high-end hotels and camping sites. Most of the venues in the area, including hotels, beach clubs, and restaurants, are on the beachfront.

Pros

  • Plenty of places to party
  • Known for its beach clubs
  • Plenty of youths
  • All types of accommodation options

Cons:

  • Lack of authenticity
  • Very crowded

Perfect for: Young people wanting to spend their days at local beach clubs

Mykonos Town

Apart from Paradise and Super Paradise Beach, the best clubs in Mykonos are located in Mykonos Town. This is, without a doubt, the best area to stay in Mykonos for partying. While you may not find open-air beach clubs, you will be able to choose among a variety of standard clubs, some of which are located in Mykonos’ traditional white houses, featuring outdoor terraces with stunning views over the sea.

The options are endless. From Skandinavian Bar Mykonos to VOID and Moni, you’ll never run out of places to party. The most popular Mykonos restaurants are located in Little Venice, an area facing the sea. However, prices tend to be higher here. Luckily, plenty of clubs and bars offer cheaper prices outside most tourist areas.

This is also the best place on the island to access all kinds of tourist services. From plenty of accommodation types to restaurants, cafés, and rental facilities, staying in Mykonos Town will surely make your vacation easier.

On the negative side, this area tends to be crowded with tourists, especially in the summer. If you prefer a quiet stay, you can book your accommodation just outside Mykonos old town. This city is relatively small, so you can walk to its center in just a few minutes, where most party venues are located.

Pros

  • Plenty of clubs to choose from
  • All types of accommodation options
  • Plenty of tourist services

Cons:

  • Crowded
  • Not many beach clubs

Perfect for: Those who want to party in a different venue every night

Kalo Livadi

Kalo Livadi is a good option for people who want to have fun while still enjoying a relaxing holiday. This popular beach is home to a few trendy restaurants and clubs, such as the Lohan Beach House, yet compared to places such as Paradise Beach and Mykonos Town, it is way quieter.

While this may not be the best option for those wanting to try different clubs every day, it’s still a nice area if partying is not the main focus of your trip. That said, remember that Mykonos is a very small island, meaning that if you want to try different clubs a couple of times a week, you can always rent a car and head to nearby places such as Paradise Beach, where you will have plenty of choices.

Pros

  • Quiet
  • A few places to party in the evening
  • A quick drive from Paradise Beach

Cons:

  • Not many places to party

Perfect for: Those who want a few places to party but prefer to have a quiet holiday

Platis Gialos

Last on our list is Platis Gialos, an area between Paradise Beach and Mykonos Town. While it is way calmer than these two, similar to Kalo Livadi, it can be a good option if you want to stay in a relatively quiet area while still being able to reach both places with a quick drive.

While there are a limited number of restaurants and places to party at night, you can get to Mykonos Town and Paradise Beach in ten minutes or less. This area also has a variety of hotels right on the beach, offering plenty of luxurious places to choose from. Here, you will find families, couples, and a few young people.

Pros

  • Relatively quiet
  • Several luxury accommodations to choose from
  • Only a 10-minute drive from Paradise Beach and Mykonos Town

Cons:

  • Not many places to party

Perfect for: Those who want a more quiet holiday while still being within driving distance from Mykonos’ party scene

Tips for Partying in Mykonos

Now that you know some of the best places to stay in Mykonos for a party, here are a few tips to help you make the most of your nights on the island.

Transportation in Mykonos

Unfortunately, transportation is one of the main problems when partying in Mykonos. While public transportation exists, it does not operate at night. Most foreigners coming to Mykonos for their holidays expect to find taxis or Ubers, yet these are rarely available, especially at night, when everyone is looking for one.

Your best option is to book an accommodation close to where you’re planning to party. This way, you’ll easily be able to walk to your chosen venue and won’t have to worry about anything.

Alternatively, you can rent a car or a scooter. This is the best option if you’re staying in places such as Platis Gialos or Kalo Livadi. However, this means you or one of your friends will have to avoid alcohol throughout the night.

Dress Code

Mykonos is vastly known for its beaches. From Agios Stefanos Beach to Paralia Elia and Paradise Beach, there are plenty of options to choose from. This means tourists here spend most of their time wearing only a swimming suit and flip-flops.

However, this doesn’t mean you can wear these when heading out for dinner or a party. In general, most clubs on the island have an ‘island chic’ dress code. Long story short, people are supposed to put some thought into their outfits. Wearing flip-flops or shorts may not be the best option, and some places may deny you entry.

While you don’t have to spend a fortune on your outfit, try to opt for some elegant pieces, such as a good pair of trousers and a shirt or a nice summer dress.

Beach clubs are obviously different, and here, you’re welcome to wear only a swimming suit and flip-flops in most cases, especially during the afternoon when people are still making the most of Mykonos’ stunning beaches while starting to party.

Balancing Partying and Visiting

Balancing wild nights and tourist activities can sometimes be tough. If you’re heading to Mykonos, you probably want to make the most of its party scene while still trying to visit its most iconic places, such as the famous windmills.

This island offers plenty of activities, from water sports to long hikes in nature. If you want to party while also visiting the island during the day, you can opt for beach clubs. These venues start playing music in the afternoon, meaning you won’t have to wait until 2 AM for the party to begin. This will allow you to enjoy your evening while still going to sleep relatively early and wake up feeling fresh in the morning for your excursion.
